Just like going to the gym, if you want something to stick – you have to turn it into a habit. If you’re looking to turn your potential clients and current clients into long term, high revenue sources a drip marketing campaign might just be the trick.
Drip marketing comes from the agricultural industry – where drip irrigation is used to water the crops. Through a slow, steady “drip” the crops are constantly tended to. In the same way, drip marketing allows you to keep in touch with your clients (at least) on a monthly basis.
But this is where most of us run into challenges. Whether you’re creating email newsletters or sending marketing materials (brochures etc) it can be difficult to stick to a routine.
The first step is to create a marketing “Road Map.” This will help you know what you want to achieve each month. Then all that is left to do is to actually execute the program you create.
Almost any drip campaign can be executed by using Send Out Cards. Using Send Out Cards you can program dates up to 5 years in advance. When you get a new potential client, just go online and program the monthly “touches” right there and then. Choose postcards for seasonal promotions, special occasion greeting cards and reminders for anything.
Some simple facts:
Sales Statistics 48% of sales people never follow up with a prospect
25% of sales people make a second contact and stop
12% of sales people only make three contacts and stop
Only 10% of sales people make more than three contacts
2% of sales are made on the first contact 3% of sales are made on the second contact
Catch your new client, hot lead by pleasant surprise with these 3 last minute gifts, handpicked by me!
1. Avenue Sweets 1 lb. Chocolate Caramels or 1.5 lb Gift Tower – caramels and nougat and a place for a card. Love the boxes – makes for a pretty presentation that anyone would love to receive
2. Ever heard of a living gift? Ten Thousand Villages has and has some great ones. Show you and your company are the charitable type by giving a gift to someone in need. Give in your client’s name so that they can collect on the tax receipt. Check out Charity Village for other local charities in need this holiday season. They have the added benefit of a time saving “donate on line” function. Send a greeting card to inform the recipient of the hand they’ve leant.
3. Send Out Cards carries books for the business-minded person. Choose from an assortment – one of my favourite’s is the Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles. It was written way back in 1910 and has similar principles as the Law of attraction, except it wasn’t called that in 1910.
As I was roaming around the shopping mall this past weekend, the realization of needing MORE CASH this holiday season crept up on me. Here are some ways to make some extra money for holiday spending this Christmas:
- Do you have a unique product or service to offer your friends, family, co-workers? Of course, one of my favourite products and services is Send Out Cards -So sharing information on how to make money as a representative makes sense for me. This is a great time of year to get started on your own Send Out Cards account as you can introduce your own network to the power of greeting cards, just by sending cards this Christmas season.
2. Cat sit, dog walk, water the plants. Pet and plant sitting can earn some extra cash when their owners are away on holidays. You can choose to keep the animals at your house or theirs.
3. Be a Technology do-gooder. There are a lot of people who need help setting up their computers and doing regular maintenance to keep their computer free of viruses and spyware. Offer to schedule some regular maintenance for your new “customers.” You can also offer to set up home entertainment systems and/or teach people how to set up their own systems.
4. Do you have a special skill that your network of friends and family compliments you on? Crafting, cooking, cleaning, etc? Why not offer to help others with your unique skills this holiday season.
5. Teach others. Whether you’re teaching at a community centre or college – teaching others a skill that you are passionate about can be uplifting emotionally and rewarding financially.
It seems like not that long ago, there was no debate. People sent greeting cards for holidays and special occasions. Now, we rely on instant messaging to say hello and Facebook to see what are friends are up to. And I get asked all the time, “Are Send Out Cards just like e-cards?”
The answer is that they are different. And listed here are a few reasons why.
So, what’s the difference?
E cards are emailed. They are a great way to send a birthday message if you’ve run so late that it’s too late to send the recipient anything. I’ve included a link to 123greetingcards.com. I have not used this system myself to email a card to someone, but I have been the recipient of one. It was animated and played a song and came straight to my in box.
Unfortunately, I have also had some virus scares with ecards. In the last couple of years, I have received email messages with deceiving titles like “You’ve received a greeting card from your mother” or “A card from your friend.” The first time (and last time!) I opened a message like this spelled computer virus disaster! I am still trying to research how to check if the message is a virus or authentic, but have not yet found a way.
On the other hand, Send Out Cards is like a traditional greeting card – it is physical (versus virtual) – made from paper, and it gets “snail” mailed
You still place your order online, but after its personalized, it gets printed, stuffed in an envelope, stamped and mailed.
Obviously, I’m biased towards this system because I believe that no matter how virtual our world gets, people still need that human touch.
Check back soon – we’ll be discussing why people still like to receive things in the mail. If you want to learn more about how the Send Out Card system actually works – you can check it out here Send Any Card
